1 The National Institute of Corrections Academy Division Presents thinking For A change Train-the-Trainer for Trainers National Institute of Corrections is providing technical assistance in the delivery of the " thinking For A change "- Train-the-Trainer for Trainers in Minneapolis, MN during the week of February 26-March 1, 2007. Hennepin County Department of Corrections will host the training and will open up this event to other jurisdictions on a space-available basis. " thinking For A change "- Train-the-Trainer (T4T) for Trainers is a 36-hour training program focused on an integrated, cognitive behavior change program for offenders which includes: cognitive restructuring, social skills development and problems solving skills. Participants selected to attend the Trainer T4T will be able to: Train other staff in the delivery of the thinking for a change Program Describe the theoretical foundations of cognitive behavioral approaches; Articulate the core principle and components of the " thinking for a change " (T4C) program; Demonstrate teaching of a cognitive self- change lesson, a social skill lesson, and a problem solving lesson Key skills and content for each program component will be learned through observing an expert demonstration of key lessons and then performing same with feedback.
2 Who Can Attend: Participants must have completed the group facilitators thinking for a change training and have facilitated a minimum of one complete program cycle of the T4C curriculum to offenders. All participants are required to bring their T4C facilitators manual to this training.
