It s miserably hot and inspiration is definitely taking a back seat to perspiration. By the time you, dear reader, are looking at this, Sirius should be a bit closer to returning to the night sky which as we all know (really?) signifies the end of the dog this issue, Paul Pace wraps up his epic story of the French astronomer/surveyors attempting to refine their measurements of the shape of the earth in the 18th century.
