Relevant payment could be made online through Debit/Credit cards or eZ cash. Change in the Curricula The Faculty has converted all courses to SLQF in 2017/ 2018 and is envisaging more changes in the curricula of academic programmes to come in to effect from academic year 2018 /2019.

3 More information regarding this will be conveyed to you in due course. Application to sit for Final Examinations All students who wish to sit for the Final Examination of any course is required to apply for the same. You have to login to myOUSL portal, go to Final exam Application link and select the courses when the Application is enabled closer to Final Exam start date. All students registered for a course will be able to sit the final examination through application, irrespective of their obtained Continuous Assessment Mark for the course.

4 Interim Qualifications All students who wish to obtain an interim qualification such as Higher Diploma in Technology in any specialisation from a study programme will be required to apply for the same. 7 The programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering Technology are yet another proof of the commitment of the OUSL to enhance access to high quality and affordable education. The open University of Sri Lanka is proud to note that we are the first University in the world to offer fully-fledged engineering degrees using the ODL methodologies, without compromising on the quality and standards of engineering education. Due to the nature of the teaching methodology followed by the University and the available infrastructure, the University serves a large student population around the entire country through our network of Regional and Study Centers located around the country.

8 The mission of the University is to enhance access to high quality, affordable and relevant education through ODL methodologies and ensure life-long learning opportunities to face challenges in a knowledge society. In order to achieve this mission, the University adopts many strategies, always keeping its students as central focus. The University offers more than fifty different study programmes through twenty-five departments belonging to five faculties.

9 It also has number of Centres and Units to facilitate student support, research, consultancy, liaison with the industry, staff training, quality assurance, etc. Keeping par with the technological developments that are taking place in the education sector, the University has embarked on a concerted effort to provide our students with increased learner support through modern day technology, including providing online support through our Learner Management System, Video conferencing by linking the main campus to number of regional and study centres, online testing, etc.

10 The University also offers diverse types of scholarships to support the students who are in financial need. We continue to enhance our scholarship fund so that we would be able to provide scholarships to as many students as possible.
