2 ~Mass Intentions~. Dear Parishioners, September 11-17, 2017 As we gather this weekend, we continue to celebrate ordinary time, namely, the 23rd Sunday. If he listens to you, you have won him over. For one, 14. Thursday 8:00 most of us would feel very uncomfortable going to someone and calling them out for Regina Martin something that they did to us. We would think that they should either know better or 15. Friday 8:00 that I can't say anything since I too do things wrong against people. And so we usu- Patrick George McClain ally keep it to ourselves, and express our displeasure through plots of revenge or just 16.

But in the long run, this 17. Sunday 8:00 helps all of our find a sense of peace within ourselves and with each other. Our Parish Family As you should know if you have been watching television, listening to the 17. 5 Sunday 11:00 Texas or Louisiana. The people in those areas are truly hurting for when one of our Lisa Real brothers or sisters are hurting, we all hurt in some way as the Body of Christ. As this Body of Christ, we have been asked by our bishop to respond generously to the immediate needs of these people who are hurting. We've been asked to take up a second collection for two weekends. But as you know, and I have stated so often, we don't take up a second collection since we are a stewardship Parish . Instead, I. will send one check to Catholic Charities USA on behalf of us to support the human- itarian and recovery efforts of these people who are hurting.

6 Catholic Charities as Mass Schedule we all know is one organization that has very low overhead and we can be assured Monday-Saturday that the funds given will be used as intended. If anyone would like to contribute to 8:00 this effort, I ask you to put your donations in an envelope with your name on it, thus Wednesday 8:30 you will receive credit for your gift and put this envelope with Hurricane gift on the Saturday 5:00 envelope and then place it in the collection basket at Mass. We will be sending one Sunday 8:00 , check and not a number of them. If not in the collection, please bring your donation 9:30 , & 11:00 to the Parish office this next week.

7 Thank you for your support. I will inform you the amount that you gave and what the Parish will forward to Catholic Charities Sacrament of USA. I will guarantee that it will be much more than what we would raise in a sec- Reconciliation ond collection. I just remind people that we would hope and pray that people would Saturday 7:30-7:50 am do the same for us if we ever found ourselves in a devastating situation as the people or 3:30-4:30 pm, or by appointment. who have experience this Hurricane.
