2 The book develops lines ofthought that I have not included in this workbook, and lines of thought aredeveloped inthis workbook that are not pursued in the his book, Rick Warren presents a forty day program designed to bring thereader to an understanding of God s Purpose for life . Rick begins his introduction bywriting, This is more thana book; it is a guide to a 40-day spiritual journey that willenable you to discover the answer to life s most important question: What on earth am Ihere for? By the end of this journey you will know God s Purpose for your life and willunderstand the big picture how all the pieces of your life fit together. Having thisperspective will reduce your stress, simplify your decisions, increase your satisfaction,and, most important, prepare you for eternity. As you study, you are encouraged to continually ask, what does this mean for mylife? This study is not a task to be completed and checked off of your to-dolist, but rather,it is an opportunity to experience greater joy and understanding in your Christian higher walk oflife can only be found by carefully learning and practicing God s truthin your daily life .

3 If you will make His truth a part of your very being then you will cometo know, by your own experience, what Jesus meant when I said, I have come that theymay have life , and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10).1 Day OneIt s Not About You For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and thatare on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominionsor principalities or powers. All things were created through Himand for Him. Colossian 1:16 What did God create?_____Who were you created by?_____What does it mean to be created by God?_____Who were you created for?_____What does it mean to be created for God?_____What does God s role as creator suggest about His authority and ownershipconcerning your life ?_____Read Job 12:10. Who holds your life and breath in his hand?_____What does this truth tell you about God s role in your life_____Read Job 34:14, 15. Why are you still living and breathing today?_____2 Read Romans 3:23.

4 Given the fact of this verse, why do you suppose God continuesto let you breath His air and drink His water?_____Read Acts 17:24, 25. What does this verse tell you about the world and everythingthat is in the world? (see also John 1:3) _____A point to ponder: You exist only because God willed for you to exist and continuesto support your life in variousways (Matt. 5:45). What are some of the ways God supportsyour life ?_____Seeking to understanding the Purpose of life is the greatest pursuit of man. It isabove anything else a man can is the number one priority of life . Why?(see 2 Peter 3:10-12)_____Successful living is about letting God use you , for the Purpose He created living is not about you using God and getting your own simply is notabout you. It s all about does this tell you about where you will find yourgreatest fulfillment?_____Would you use a garden rake to sweep the kitchen floor?_____ Why?_____Would you use a kitchen broom to rake your garden?

5 _____ Why?_____If a rake and a broom work best when theyare used for the Purpose they were33created, then what about you? When are you at your best?_____Being successful in life and fulfilling your Purpose for life are not the same fact, there will bemany successful people in hell. How can this happen?_____Life is a do-it -yourself project and the Bible is the instruction manual. God is thecreator and source of all. Go to His word (Prov. 3:5, 6). He did not leave you to grope andwander aimlessly in the dark. His plan for you is a plan of victory. His word reveals howto win the victory He purposed for can you learn about God s victory plan? (see 2 Tim. 2:15)_____To fulfill your life s Purpose , you must come to understand what it means to becreated. What does itmean to be created? (list everything you can think of)_____Next, you must humbly surrender to your creator and let Him use you for thepurpose He created you. How can you do this?

(Prov. 14:12)_____45 Day TwoYou Are Not An Accident Thus says the Lord who made you and formed you from thewomb. Isaiah 44:2 Your lifeis not an accident or a mistake. While it may be true that your parentsdid not purposely plan you, you are alive because Godwants you to be Psalm 139:13- 16. What does David tell you about the creative process ofGod?_____God created your body. He did not just create any old body for you, He createdyour body. Read Exodus 4:11. What does God create?_____Place a checkmark next to each item that you chose prior to being Gender_____ Race_____ Physical features such as height, hair color, eye color, Talents_____ Parents_____ When you would be created_____ Where you would be bornObviously, youhad no input in any of these matters. You did not create yourself ordesign yourself.

7 You did not choose your gender, race,physical features, talents, parents,time or place of birth. You had absolutely nothing to do with your creation. What doesthis suggest about where you should look to learn about why you were created?(Jer. 10:23)_____Read Jeremiah 1:5. When did God know Jeremiah?_____When we reject ourselves, who and what are we ultimately rejecting?Who?_____ What?_____God created your lifespan. Read Psalm 90:10. How long has God given you tolive?_____ReadJob 14:5. What does this suggest to you about your life ?_____Read Acts 17:26, 27. What do you learn from this verse about your life ?_____Did God create you just to ignore you? Read Matthew 10 Romans 1:20. Whose fingerprints are upon creation?_____Whose fingerprints are upon your very existence and being?_____A point to ponder. Consider how awesome it is that you werecreated by God. Hetook the time and thought to make you. And, as we all know, God don t make no junk.

8 When you think aboutthis, how does it make you feel?_____When you pick up the phone, dial the wrong number, and contact a stranger, doesthat mean the phone is broken?_____When you put the wrong numbers in a calculator and get a wrong answers, doesthat mean the calculator is broken?_____66In both of the cases mention above, both the phone and calculator worked exactlyas they were designed to work. The problem wasn t the machine, but rather the operatorof the machine. Reasoning from these examples answer the following life gets off track and all messed up, does that necessarily mean thatyou are broken?_____When your life is off course, what does it indicate?_____God created man and created a place for man. God custom made theearth forman. The more science discovers, the more we learn about how the earth has been custommade for man. Read Isaiah 45:18. What do you learn from this verse about creation?_____Why doyou think God create this world and you?

Why? How does this effect thewayyou see yourself?77 Day ThreeWhat Drives Your life ? Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, andin whose spirit there is no deceit. List some of the various things that can drive aman s things that are immoral drive or have Driven your life ?
