A WORK EXPERIENCE THANK YOU. J acob Brigham worked with staff in the St. Luke Lutheran Home dietary department for two weeks this spring as part of work study program through Spencer High School. Jacob, who graduated in May, plans to attend the Iowa School for the Deaf this fall. He is hoping to complete some additional training in a culinary arts program. We received the following note from Jacob following his experience at St. Luke Homes & Services: Thank you so much for letting me experience work at St. Luke Lutheran Home. I always wondered what a job in the kitchen would be like! I liked learning about diabetes with sugar and no sugar requirements.

6 I also learned how to clean tables and check the food temperatures. I enjoy help- ing people and especially liked working with older people. I learned about beverages and how to serve them and then measure to keep track of how much each person drinks. One thing that was hard for me was food measurement.
