2022 Summer School Program The Toronto Catholic District School Board offers summer credit courses under the OSS curriculum guidelines. Parents and students must consult with their day School guidance counsellor regarding their course selections, prerequisite courses, and diploma requirements. 1 2022 Summer School Program The Toronto Catholic District School Board offers summer credit courses under the OSS curriculum guidelines. Parents and students must consult with their day School guidance counsellor regarding their course selections, prerequisite courses, and diploma requirements. 2 Each half credit course follows the same timelines as a new credit course; therefore, students are expected to participate in each half credit course for the entire session. Students interested in these half credit courses must register in these courses separately. *Please note: You must have completed and have a successful mark in the prerequisite course (if applicable) to apply for a new credit course. UPGRADING COURSES: These courses enable students to obtain one full credit by repeating 55 hours of instruction. Students must have a minimum mark of 35%. Students may register for a maximum of two upgrading credit courses this summer during session one remote learning in either morning (AM) or afternoon (PM) time slots. This summer we are offering three models of course delivery: In-person learning, Remote Learning and eClass Online Learning. IN-PERSON LEARNING Start Date: Monday, July 4th, 2022 End Date: Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 *In-person learning is only available to students who are currently enrolled in School .

Finch Ave E. & Neilson Rd. REMOTE LEARNING These courses are offered through a mixture of synchronous (80%) and asynchronous (20%) instruction. The synchronous component of classes will be use either Brightspace D2L or Google Classroom with Zoom or Google Meet. Synchronous Learning occurs when the teacher interacts with a student or group of students in real-time either online or through other means in relation to the course content, lessons, or assessment tools. Students are expected to be connected to their class during the posted times. *Remote learning is only available to students who are currently enrolled in School . 5 Asynchronous Learning does not occur in-real time. Students respond to course content, lessons, or assessments typically through accessing the learning platform where the teacher has placed these activities. Although this can seem to look like independent work, ideas, response, and feedback can still occur. The feedback does not happen simultaneously with the teacher. Students are expected to log in daily. eClass is available to adult learners and students. Session 1: July - Start Date: Monday, July 4th End Date: Friday, July 29th Session 2: August - Start Date: Friday, July 15th End Date: Friday, August 12th Final Exam/Culminating Activity Dates: Session 1: Wednesday, July 27th and Thursday, July 28th Session 2: Wednesday, August 10th and Thursday, August 11th COURSE DELIVERY MODELS, DATES AND TIMES All students can register for our summer School remote and eClass online learning courses starting on Monday, May 2nd. Cancelled courses will be posted by evening of Thursday, June 30th.

Submit your completed registration package to Your registration package must consist of the following items: - Signed & Stamped (with School approval) Registration Form - Credit counseling summary that lists the prerequisite mark for the course you are attempting this term.

7 NON-TCDSB INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS Non-TCDSB International VISA students must email us at for additional registration information. ATTENDANCE Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory. In-Person: Parents must contact the summer School location during School hours to report an absence or to inquire about their child s attendance. Remote Learning: Students are expected to log in on during the days and times posted above. eClass Online Learning: Students are expected to log in daily. Students who do not login or attend on the first session of classes may forfeit their place in the course. Students who are unable to login must contact us for assistance. FINAL ASSESSMENT All students will be required to complete a final assessment. Students that are unable to fulfill this condition will be considered not to have completed the course. Please check with your teacher for details on the final assessment. This number is not your student number. It can be found on your transcript/report card/credit counselling summary. 5. Once you have created an account you will receive an email with a validation link. Once confirmed, you can use this account information to register for a night , Saturday, Summer School or Online course.

If applicable, refer to your transcript/credit counselling summary to enter the prerequisite course and mark for your selection.
