THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render is available in Grey or White. THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render is suitable for swimming pool walls and floors, for tiles or as a final white finish. COVERAGE Render coverage 1m @ 11mm Per pack 25kg bag and 5 litre bottle mixed. Two 6mm coats required. GGEENNEERRAALL IINNSSTTRRUUCCTTIIOONNSS FFOORR UUSSEE PREPARATION The swimming pool structure on which the THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render is being applied must be structurally sound and stable and suitable to receive and support a strong Render . Concrete surfaces should ideally be prepared by shot blasting or similar to expose the aggregate and provide a mechanical key. All grease, oil, dirt and debris material must be removed by vacuuming from the swimming pool.

2 When applying the THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render to the THERMAPOOL Insulation Render Coat, the surface should be fully cured and left with a light scratch to provide a mechanical key. DAMPING The swimming pool surfaces must be thoroughly dampened with clean water. All surplus and standing water must be removed before the THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Primer is applied. PRIMING Brush apply or roller the THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Primer to the damp surface immediately before applying the mixed Render . The primer should always be tacky prior to applying the Render . Mix the THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Primer thoroughly and apply evenly over the surface, ensuring total and uniform coverage. Only prime an area which can be covered by the Render within the working time of the primer. THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Primer MIXING THERMAPOOL Finishing Render Coat should be mixed using a forced action mixer ( cement mixer or paddle mixer).

3 Mix the dry components adding the minimum amount of the supplied liquid which will provide sufficient workability for the application, do not add water. APPLICATION This is a two coat application as soon as the material is mixed, apply using conventional rendering techniques ensuring the primer is still tacky, ensure the Render does not slump or slide away from the surface. Once suitably hardened scratch the Render , giving it a mechanical key ready to receive the second coat. The second coat of THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render , should be applied after the previous layer has cured sufficiently to support its weight without slumping or pulling away. Keying and priming between layers is necessary to ensure total adhesion through the Render . When using THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render in a tanking situation, it is necessary to apply not less than two coats, the first coat should be 6 7mm thick and the second should be 6 7mm. Joints must be staggered and the Render should be carried down on to the floor to form a coving.

4 The joint between a waterproof Render and a waterproof screed must also be overlapped. The second coat should be straightened with a rule filing in low points with additional Render when applied. As this coat begins to dry it should be rubbed up with a poly float and towelled off as required. POOL FITTINGS Using a suitable swimming pool MS polymer, seal around all inlets or outlets after the first coat has cured, covering the MS polymer with the second coat of Render . CURING In hot weather the Render should be shaded to prevent rapid drying. When the rendering has been applied it should be prevented from drying out for two or three days until the mortar has hardened. In drying winds it may necessary to be kept the Render damp by applying a gentle fine spray of water. Use tight fitting polyurethane to prevent rapid moisture loss and surface cracking and crazing. Allow the Render to suitably cure for 14 Days prior to tiling. WORKING TEMPERATURES THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render can be used in most weather conditions and in a wide temperature range, typically from +5oC to 25oC, rendering should not be attempted if there is a risk of frost or in light rain.

5 Note that at high ambient temperatures the working time of the mix will be reduced; it will be increased at lower temperature. STORAGE THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render should be stored unopened between 5oC and 25oC in dry conditions and out of direct sunlight. In these conditions shelf life is approximately 6 months. PRECAUTIONS THERMAPOOL Swimming Pool Finishing Render contains more than 20% Portland cement content and therefore in line with current legislation is classified as irritating to eyes and skin. For this reason the following precautions should be observed, avoid contact with skin and eyes in case of contact with eyes rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advise wear suitable gloves, keep out of reach from children.
