As a condition of entry into THORNTON Le Dale Show all such persons are themselves required to comply fullywith the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other current, relevant legislation and/or established guidance relating tosafety at public events, including THORNTON le Dale Show & Sports Society s rules and regulations, this Health & Safety Policyand any legal obligations placed upon Society is committed to the highest attainable standards of health and safety for all of those persons listed above.
6 To enablethese standards to be achieved and maintained the Society will endeavour to ensure that all applicable statutory requirementsare enforced and that the provisions of any relevant advisory Codes of Practice are recognised and exhibitor and trader is responsible for the safety of all equipment including electrical generators and gas applianceswhich should be tested prior to use and the report be made available for inspection by the Show Director, if requested. Usersshould ensure that such equipment is operated in a safe manner and that in the event of such equipment catching fire, theappropriate means to deal with the incident is available on site. The Society will not be responsible for any accident that mayoccur from the machinery or equipment belonging to any exhibitor or trader, and it is a condition of Entry that each exhibitoror trader will hold the Society blameless, and indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising from any accident caused byan exhibitor s or trader s machinery or prior written approval of the Secretary is required before any Hazardous Substance can be brought onto the bringing a Hazardous Substance on to the Showfields must ensure that it is transported, handled and stored in a Stand Exhibitors will be responsible for the safety of the general public visiting their stand, ensuring that all exhibitsare safe and that adequate escape routes are provided.
7 Traders are required to have in place appropriate Public LiabilityInsurance and must produce supporting documentary evidence to this effect before being allowed onto the the Society accepts that the behaviour of live exhibits is unpredictable, it would not expect exhibitors to show anyanimal that is not properly trained for AID, DOCTOR and VETERINARY SURGEON are in attendance on the Showfield and/or may be contacted via theSecretary who can be located at the the event of an emergency, a TELEPHONE is available from the Secretary, at the exhibitors and members of the public attending the Show should be aware that live exhibits can be easily frightened andcan be dangerous. They should pay particular attention where animals are tethered or moving and avoid behaviour that mightalarm and equine exhibitors are responsible for carrying out their own risk assessment for the control, movement andconduct of their animals at all times and for applying reasonable controls to ensure that they do not escape or pose a danger tothe public.
8 Livestock must be under the control of a competent handler when being moved. If the handler is a junior handler,he/she must be supervised by a competent adult handler who is able to restrain/control the animal in an must be supervised at all times. No bicycles are allowed on the Society reserve the right to prohibit entry to, eject or have ejected from the Showfields any person guilty of noisy ordisorderly conduct or of any other practice likely to annoy other persons attending the Show, or who interferes with the quietuse of the Showfields by any other alcohol may be brought onto the ShowfieldAll dogs brought onto the Showfield must be kept on a leash and under the control of a responsible person at all times. Ownersare required to clean up after their pets and deposit all waste in a may only be ridden in the rings and designated exercise area and must not be ridden in areas open to the general publicVehicle movements are not permitted on the Showground whilst the Show is open to the public ( to exceptessential service and emergency vehicles.)
9 Any moving vehicle must display headlamps and hazard warning indicators.
