Most of that time was spent living and working throughout the Asia Pacific began my career in high tech first working in Everett, WA, at Boeing in the early days of the 777 project. It was GI that soon moved me to Japan and, by 1997, I became the president of General Instru-ment s Japanese subsidiary. That position led to me becoming the Managing Director of OpenTV Asia Pacific, where I went on to build out a re-gional organization throughout the Asia Pacific region working with some of the most powerful media companies in the world like Liberty Me-dia, News Corp, and many , I moved to London where I earned my master s degree in management with a major in corporate finance as a Sloan Fellow at the Lon-don Business School.

3 After London, I returned to the United States to head up a global team at Qualcomm where just one of the many projects I oversaw resulted in a $380 million windfall for the 2009, NXP semiconductors recruited me to turn around one of its largest global its Japanese subsidiary. The hard work paid off when NXP went public in NXP, I did it again, leading the effort to turn around the Japanese subsidiary of Juniper Networks. There, I worked with some of the larg-est telecommunications players in the world, as well as cloud service providers that are vital parts of the world s global communications and inter-net benefit of all this experience is that it has given me a global perspective on business, fi-nance, and investing.

4 And of course, I leverage that experience to provide invaluable research to my readers. America has long been seen as the land of inno-vation and wealth creation. The technological development in the has been an economic driver for the entire world. But only 56% of the total value of global equities sits with American probably won t come as a surprise to learn that most American investors only have 15% of their portfolios exposed to international stocks. From our car to our coffee maker, and even critical mil-itary and medical technology they all require semiconductors to function. And right now, the world is faced with a global shortage of many kinds of semiconductors . The current semiconductor shortage is the rea-son why it seems so difficult to purchase a new car today. Automakers simply don t have the necessary components to build their cars. Ford had to shut down its Chicago factory which produces the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVs for over a month last the recent shortages are affecting more than just vehicles.

7 Looking to purchase a new home appliance? That s already difficult for many mod-els. Consumer electronics companies are literally having to prioritize which products they manu-facture based on which semiconductors they can is a normal industry dynamic, as building manufacturing capacity takes time. The industry always overbuilds, which eventually results in a glut of semiconductors . When that happens, capital expenditures slow down, and the indus-try waits for demand to catch up with industry capacity.

8 And it starts all over what is uncommon this time is that the rate of technological advancement in technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learn-ing (ML), autonomous driving, and blockchain technology is moving faster than at any time in history. In fact, just ten years ago, these technol-ogies were barely in use. These technologies are creating entirely new markets that didn t exist before. For this reason, the chip shortage won t be fixed overnight. The underlying strength of the econ-omy pre-pandemic caught most off guard.

9 The growth simply couldn t be stopped, not even by bad policy decisions. This demand cycle is unlike anything I ve ever seen before in my THREE de-cades as an s why there has never been a better time to look for investment opportunities in the semi-conductor industry. The companies that serve this industry will continue to see increased order volume in the months ahead. These THREE companies won t be official recom-mendations for Exponential Tech Investor.
