Foundations, Fundamentals and Family . Date: May 29, 2018. The 2018 State Clinic of the New Mexico Officials Association will be held on July 20-21, 2018 at Del Norte High School and the Marriott Pyramid Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Based upon the feedback received from Officials throughout the 2017-2018 season, we have retained the format from last year's state clinic, with a few minor adjustments. We are again offering multiple sessions per sport. There is a rules change/ points of emphasis presentation in each sport and then other various subjects per sport. Officials will be assigned into groups for the sport breakout sessions and those group numbers will be noted on your name tags and in your registration packets.
2 We will again have group leader training session as well as breakout sessions for Officials in the one to three year experience level (Officiating 101). Here are the dates of the state clinics for all sports in the upcoming school year: Basketball, Football & Volleyball July 20-21, 2018 Del Norte HS & Marriott Pyramid Hotel (Albuquerque). Wrestling October 2018, in conjunction with the NMHSCA wrestling coaches' clinic, dates/location TBD. Spirit October 2018 at NMAA office, date TBD. Swimming October 2018 at various locations, dates/sites TBD. Baseball & Softball January 2019 dates/location TBD. Track & Field January 2019, in conjunction with the NMTCCCA clinic, dates/location TBD. Soccer No state clinic required, per NMOA Constitution and By-Laws More information for the clinics occurring in October and January will be forthcoming.
3 This year's Hall of Fame induction ceremony and awards banquet will be held Friday evening, July 20, 2018 at 7:00 at the Marriott Pyramid and will feature NFL Referee, Tony Corrente as our keynote speaker. We will recognize our Hall of Fame inductees, Officials of the year in all sports and will present various other honors to Officials from the NMOA. Enclosed is a variety of materials relative to the event, including the clinic registration form. The registration fee for attendance is $60 for registration, regardless of the number of events you attend. The fee includes a ticket to the Friday evening banquet. IMPORTANT: THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION OFFERED. Due to the format, which includes multiple sessions and Officials being assigned to groups for space considerations, we cannot accept on-site registrations.
4 The deadline for registration is Thursday, July 12, 2018. If you register for the July clinic, you are also able to attend any of the other clinics listed above. You'll just note which sports you are registering for on the form. If you cannot pay prior to the deadline but plan to attend, please submit your registration form prior to the deadline and we can obtain payment from you later.
