A United States CARB/EPA regulatory time line has been established by the Federal and State agencies that set the permeation level require-ments for all Marine Tank Fuel Hoses. This change took effect January 1, 2009; all fuel hoses must meet the fol-lowing permeation requirements: < 15 g/m2/day. Permeation can be described as a wicking effect in which the hydro carbon molecules, in the fuel, migrate through the wall of the fuel line.
