Page 2 Preamble Section establishes the zone categories and zone symbols which are applied to all lands within the town . Section 2 Definitions Section 2 provides specific definitions for commonly used terms in the By-law. Many of the permitted uses, and other technical terms used in the ZONING By-law are defined in Section 2.
10 These definitions ensure that the ZONING By-law is being interpreted and applied consistently. For the convenience of the reader, if a term is bolded in the text of the ZONING By-law, then the term is defined in Section 2. It is important to read and understand the definitions, as they will assist in the interpretation of this By-law. For example, if the By-law requires a minimum lot frontage of metres, the definition of lot frontage will clarify how the lot frontage may be identified and calculated. The reader should always refer to the definition of a term if it is defined. Where a term is not specifically defined, it is intended that the common, general definition of the term is applicable.
