The trail zig -zags up asmall hill just north of Signal Hill Picnic Area, which islocated off Golden Gate Road, 5 miles from the RedHills Visitor trail is rough and uneven inplaces and contains rock and Mountain Hiking TrailsKing Canyon trail ( miles, one way)The trailhead and parking area for this hike are directlyacross Kinney Road from the Arizona- S onora DesertMuseum, two miles east of the Red Hills Visitor Cen-ter. The first .9 miles is a gradual climb up to Ma m - A -Gah Picnic Area, which was named after a TohonoO odham Indian Chief.

4 The next miles to thejunction of the Sweetwater trail are steeper. Numer-ous switchbacks on the next .9 miles lead to the HughNorris final .3 miles ascends the Hugh NorrisTrail to the top of Wasson Peak (elevation 4,687 feet),the highest point in the tucson Mountains. Livestockare prohibited above the Sweetwater trail Norris trail ( miles, one way)This is the longest trail in the tucson Mountain Dis-trict. It begins off the Bajada Loop Drive, milesnorth of the Red Hills Visitor Center. The trail wasnamed after a former Chief of the Tohono O odhamIndian Police.

5 The trail begins with a series ofswitchbacks that climb to a ridge overlooking thecactus forest. From there, the trail follows the ridge -top through areas with splendid views and uniquerock formations until it reaches Amole Peak, approx i -mately miles from the trailhead. The next .8 milesgoes up a final series of switchbacks and a gradualclimb that leads to the top of Wasson Peak. Livestockare prohibited on this Esperanza trail ( miles, one way)This trailhead is approximately 6 miles from the RedHills Visitor Center, miles east of the intersection ofHohokam Road and Golden Gate Road.

6 The first mileof trail follows the sandy path of an old mine road. Thenext .7 mile climbs a series of switchbacks to the top ofthe ridge where it crosses the Hugh Norris trail . Thetrail then descends miles on the western side of therange to Mam-A-Gah Picnic Area and the King Can-yon trail . It is .9 miles down the King Canyon trail toKinney Road, directly across from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Walks and Nature TrailsCam-Boh trail ( miles, one way)This trail runs parallel to Picture Rocks Road fromCam-Boh Picnic Area to the Ringtail trail .

7 As a majorconnection between the east and west parts of theTucson Mountain District, the Cam-Boh trail pro -vides several loop opportunities for both equestriansand trail (1 mile, one way)The Ringtail trail provides access to numerous trailsin the eastern part of the tucson Mountain different loop opportunities exist using Cam-Boh trail , Mule Deer trail , Ironwood Forest trail orPicture Rocks Wash trail . The terrain varies fromfairly level, to gently rolling to moderately steep. Useextreme caution while entering or exiting thistrailhead as vehicle traffic on Picture Rocks Road canbe trail ( miles, one way)The Sweetwater trail is the only access to WassonPeak from the eastern side of the tucson trailhead is located at the western end of ElCamino del Cerro Road.

8 The trail climbs miles toa ridge where it ends at the King Canyon trail . Toreach Wasson Peak, continue up the King CanyonTrail .9 miles to the Hugh Norris trail , then .3 miles toWasson Peak. Livestock are prohibited on the KingCanyon trail from the Sweetwater trail to HughNorris Wren trail ( miles, one way)The Cactus Wren trail runs from the corner ofSandario Road and Rudasill Road to Signal Hill PicnicArea. This area is fairly flat and crosses severalwashes. Livestock are prohibited on the Cactus WrenTrail south of the Encinas preserve the unique natural features of the parkwhile assuring your safety and that of other visitors.

9 Plants, animals, rocks, wood and other natural resources areprotected and must be left undisturbed. Report any damage of park resources to a park ranger. To preserve the desert, try to avoid off trail travel. If you must gooff trail , limit group size to 10 people. Hiking groups are limitedto a maximum of 18 persons when hiking on designated Trails . Pets on a leash are permitted only on roadways, at the visitorcenter and in picnic areas, except Mam-A-Gah Picnic Area, as itis only accessible by trail . Pets must remain on a leash at all are prohibited on all Trails .

10 Bicycles are permitted only on roadways. Fires are allowed only in grills in the picnic areas. Firearms and other weapons are prohibited. Camping is prohibited anywhere in the park. Entry into the Sensitive Resource Area near the Red Hills VisitorCenter is prohibited. Premits are required to use State Trust Lands. Livestock are prohibited from traveling off- t rail. Livestock are prohibited on the following Trails .
