Stop spark plug wires to preventaccidental oil drainplug and capture waste oil in anapproved container. Dispose of waste oilproperly, see Fig. 1, when completed, oil filter every 100 hours of installing new oil filter, lightly oil filtergasket with fresh, clean engine oil. Screw filteron by hand until gasket contacts filter 1/2 to 3/4 turn, see, Fig. capacity is approximately 4 pints, ( liters)with filter, 3-3/4 pints ( liters) without filter. Fillto full mark on dipstick. (Always check andmaintain oil level regularly.)SUse Briggs & Stratton certified SAE 30 oil, partnumber 100028, 48 oz.
2 ( liters) or 100005,20 oz. (.6 liters).SStart engine and run for five minutes. Shut downengine and recheck oil level on dipstick afterengine cools for five minutes. 3 Bottle of gasolineadditive, part number 5041, see Fig. Spark PlugsSBefore installing new spark plugs, check gap andset to in. ( mm) if required, see Fig. spark plug finger tight. Then tighten 1/4 to1/3 turn more with socket and wrench 180 in. lbs(20 Nm).( Replace spark plug after 100 hours or everyseason.)Note: 2 PlugsSMake sure cover is properly installed beforestarting :If your kit contains Briggs & Strattonpaper cartridge part #693141. You canextend the replacement of the air clean-er cartridge to 100 hours of operation,unless operating under dusty precleaner is not required for use withthis paper cartridge.
