6 Of the uefa General ProvisionsArticle 1 Scope of present regulations govern the rights, duties and responsibilities of all partiesparticipating and involved in the preparation and organisation of the2017/18 uefa Champions League including its qualifying phase and play-offs(hereinafter the competition).Article 2 the context of these regulations, the following definitions apply:a. commercial rights: any and all commercial rights and opportunities in and inrelation to the competition (including all matches), including media rights,marketing rights and data rights;b.

7 Data rights: the right to compile and exploit statistics and other data inrelation to the competition;c. doping: the occurrence of one or more of the anti-doping rule violations setout in the uefa Anti-Doping Regulations;d. exclusive area: the venue for a uefa Champions League match or a play-offmatch, comprising the stadium itself (including without limitation scoreboards,advertising board system, video boards, giant screens, clocks, dressing rooms,players' tunnel, technical zone and all seating, hospitality and VIP areas), allareas in the vicinity of the stadium owned, controlled, managed or operatedby the club, as well as the area around it, up to and including the fencingsurrounding it or roads which naturally demarcate the area of the stadium, theair space immediately above the stadium (if the LOC holds or controls suchrights or is reasonably able to do so), and the broadcaster, press and mediaareas;e.

8 Local organising committee (LOC): the group of individuals who help organisehome matches at the behest of the club participating in the uefa ChampionsLeague and/or the play-offs (or a member association appointed by uefa ),and in close cooperation with uefa , the minimum composition of whichrequired by uefa embraces representatives of the club s board orrepresentatives of the association, the stadium authorities, the safety/securityservices, and the club press officer;f. marketing rights: the right to advertise, promote, endorse and market thecompetition; to conduct public relations activities in relation to thecompetition; and to exploit all advertising, sponsorship, hospitality, licensing,merchandising, publishing, betting, gaming, retailing, music and franchisingopportunities and all other commercial association rights (including throughticket promotions) in relation to the competition;g.

9 Media rights: the right to create, distribute and transmit on a linear and/or on-demand basis for reception on a live and/or delayed basis anywhere in theworld by any and all means and in any and all media, whether now known orI General Provisions9devised in the future (including all forms of television, radio, mobile, wirelessand internet distribution), digital, audiovisual, visual and/or audio coverage ofthe competition and all associated and/or related rights, including fixedmedia, download and interactive rights;h. non-commercial purposes: activities, without any direct or indirect third partyassociation, necessary for (i) a club to advertise its own matches, (ii) internalarchiving purposes and (iii) internal librar
