10 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY BY DISTRICT MANAGER In developing the DHP, the DISTRICT in the strategies has taken into consideration the service delivery mandates NSDA, MDG, DHER outputs, Provincial and Local strategic processes, quadruple burden of diseases. MDGs and NSDA Outcome and Outputs Outcome: A long and healthy life for all the people in the UMGUNGUNDLOVU DISTRICT Outputs: Increase life expectancy: Ensuring the strengthening of preventive and promotive HEALTH care by implementing Primary HEALTH care re-engineering, prevention of non-communicate diseases and promoting healthy life style. Integration of school HEALTH team, Family HEALTH team and CCGs programmes is envisaged to contribute positively into school going children households and early developmental centers. Maternal & Child Mortality and MDG 4 and 5: The DISTRICT acknowledges its challenges in the high maternal deaths and has developed strategies to try and turn around the tide.
