This Calendar is prepared in accordance with the decision of theSynod of the Syro-Malabar Bishops held in November 6 18, The readings of the Sundays and other important days are given inthe Calendar as per the direction of the Supplementum Mysteriorumand Ordo published by Rome in 1959 60.

2 The long readings havebeen reduced, while the complete version of them are given in thebrackets. Readings of ordinary days are selected as per the The division of the Liturgical Year of the Syro-Malabar Church isfollowed according to the Lectionary System of the East Syriantradition. The liturgical calendar is divided into nine seasons.
