The equipment is equipped with the advanced X Ray image detection system and combines the advantages of the efficient semiconductor detector, digital image processing technology and computer image display to provide users with an efficient and reliable high quality image processing system with the service function. The equipment can store any number of high definition images, and has the reliable automatic alarm function for the dangerous goods and drugs, operator training function, dangerous goods insertion function (TIP), network extending and interconnection function, automatic error check and maintenance function. All operators must receive necessary training on how to operate the equipment.

Report the installation and operation of the X Ray machine to local authorities. It is the client s responsibility to acquire approval for system operation and to get operation approvals from local authorities. Check the radiation protection conditions of X Ray as recommended by manufacturer. If the X Ray machine is not in operation for an extended time, allow the X Ray generator to preheat according to the factory settings. This will guarantee the service life of the X Ray generator. Do not store the equipment in an environment that contains conductive dust or chemicals. Connect the unit to a professionally installed power source, according to the local regulations. For maintenance and repairs, contact a factory approved service company.

If any of the components (cables, belt, indicator lights, lead curtain, etc.) are damaged, turn off the machine and contact a factory approved service company. Do not open side panels. When on, do not leave the machine unattended. After the machine is powered on, do not insert any living body parts (hand, legs) or live animals through the machine s tunnel. This can result in body radiation and life threatening situations. When the conveyor belt is in use, the operator shall pay attention to objects placement, to prevent them from blocking the access to the tunnel or falling from the conveyor belt. Do not allow liquids from spilling over the conveyor belt or inside the tunnel. If such situation occurs, turn the machine off and clean it immediately.

When the equipment is in operation, do not cover the vents of the access panel to ensure that the heat dissipation inside the equipment internal is in good condition. For the daily cleaning maintenance of the equipment, cut off the power. Page 6 of 44 Chapter 2 EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION The X Ray machine has two major components. The first one is the scanning body that contains the conveyor belt, X Ray, processing unit and power. The second one is the review console that has the review monitor and the operation keyboard. Scanning Body See image below for details on the scanning body and the monitoring console. Depending on the model, some of the features may or may not be available: Page 7 of 44 Emergency Stop Button The emergency stop buttons are installed at top of the inlet and outlet of the tunnel and on the operating keyboard (see section Operating Keyboard).

When the button is pressed, the conveyor belt and the x ray emission will stop immediately. Note: the emergency stop button provided is latching, which means, that in order to return to normal operation, the button needs to be rotated according to the arrow on the button, about 30 . Power Light (Green) The power lights are installed at top of the inlet and outlet of the tunnel. They indicate the scanning body is turned on. X Ray Light (Red) The X Ray lights are located at top of the inlet and outlet of the tunnel, and on the operating keyboard (see section Operating Keyboard). This light indicates that the scanning body is emitting X Ray (actively scanning objects). Alarm Light (Yellow) The alarm lights are located at top of the inlet and outlet of the tunnel.

Alarms can be triggered when alarm function is enabled (scanned objects contain suspected or impenetrable goods). The display screen will box out the area and the light will go on at the same time. Lead Curtain The X Rays lead curtain block x ray from leaking outside the tunnel. Note: If any part of the lead curtain is damaged or missing, turn off the machine and call service support. Conveyor Belt The conveyor belt transfers the objects through the X Ray tunnel. Note: If the conveyor belt or any other component is damaged, turn off the machine and call service support. Review Console The monitor and the operating keyboard are located inside the review console. PC Mouse Depending on the unit model, this item is optional or standard.

The user can zoom in on the screen image by rolling the wheel on the mouse. Page 8 of 44 Operating Keyboard The keyboard is used by the operator to turn on/off the conveyor belt, to view, replay and to store images.
