If you belie ve y ou are suffering fr om severe dehydration, consult a healthcare professional immediately . If your Blood gluco se results are lo wer or higher than usual, and you do not have any sympt oms of illness, first repeat the t est. If you have sympt oms or continue t o get results which are higher or lower than usual, follo w the treatment advice o f y our healthcare pr ofessional. Use o nly fresh whole Blood samples to t est your Blood gluco se.

6 Using other substances will lead to incorrect results. If you are e xperiencing sympt oms that are inconsistent with your Blood gluco se t est results and y ou have f ollo wed all the instructions given in this owner s manual, contact your healthcare professional. We do not recommend using this product on severe ly hypotensive individuals or patients in shock . Readings which are lo wer than actual values may occur f or individuals experiencing a hyperglycaemic-hyperosmolar state, with or without ketosis. Please consult the healthcare professional before u se.

7 7 Intended UseThis system is intended for use o utside the body (in vitro diagnostic use ) by people with diabetes at home and by health care professionals in clinical settings as an aid t o monitoring the e ffectiveness of diabetes control. It is intended to be u se d for the quantitative measure ment of gluco se (sugar) in fresh whole Blood samples (from the finger, palm, fore arm, upper arm, calf and thigh). This system is not intended for the diagnosis of or screening for diabetes and is not intended to be u se d on neonates. Alternative site testing (AST) in this system can be u se d only during steady-state Blood gluco se conditions described in the section about AST.

8 This meter has some speaking functions but is not intended for use b y the visually PrincipleYour system measure s the amount of sugar (gluco se ) in whole Blood . The gluco se t esting is based on the measure ment of ele ctrical current generated by the reaction of gluco se with the reagent of the strip. The meter measure s the current, calculates the Blood gluco se le vel, and displays the result. The strength of the current produce d by the re action depends on the amount of gluco se in the Blood ents of SystemYour new FORA v30a system kit includes:Test strips, control solu tions (high and normal) and lancets are o p-tional.
