PROGRESS WITH THE IB ESCA is taking its final lap on the way to become an authorized IB World School. All the documentation is now submitted to the IB Office in Hague and we are expecting the IBDP authorization visit to take place in the early December 2015. During the visit, IB team members will meet with the Governing Board, Management Board, Teaching Staff as well as with Students and Parents.

As part of the preparation for the authorization visit, Head of the IB Continuum, Ms Marta Bobiatynska attended the IB Regional Conference, which took place at the end of October in Hague, Netherlands. During the conference she had a chance to meet with heads of schools and IB educators from all over the world and establish connections with other schools. The importance of ESCA being the first school in the Kyrgyz Republic to apply for the IB authorization has been recognized by the IB Director General, Dr Siva Kumari, who has accepted the invitation to visit our school in the near future.

More detailed information about the authorization visit will follow once specific dates are confirmed with the IB Office. UNIQUE SPELLING BEE ESCA students will be participating in an unusually styled spelling bee that sees teams competing instead of individuals. ESCA Newsletter for ESCA Parents and Friends | No: 10 / 2015- 16 9th November 2015 FALL FESTIVAL CELEBRATION AT ESCA On Friday 6 November ESCA celebrated the Fall Festival, where students and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters or wore their Halloween costume.

In the morning students and parents were welcomed by Andrew Henry from Andrew Henry s Meadow , Stanley Yelnats IV from the "Holes", Pippi Longstocking and many others. The students participated in various activities, including picking wild mushrooms around the school, counting the corn seeds and pumpkin carving. In the afternoon a group of judges from the Parents Association and the school administration selected the best and most creative costumes, as well as the best painted and the best carved pumpkins.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing this wonderful day with us! MESSAGE FROM THE PAMC Thank you for everyone's wonderful support of Book Week and the fundraising for the ESCA Library. The Garage Sale this weekend was a huge success, and our coffee morning was so enjoyable that we are considering organising them on a monthly basis from now on. Thank you especially to the volunteers who helped with all our efforts - as the saying goes "many hands make light work", but I think having help from such great people makes it fun too.

The final count is still coming, but over 20,000 som has been raised for the school library, not to mention donations of almost 20 books! THANK YOU!
