1 Volume 1, Chapter 4 DoD Financial Management RegulationCHAPTER 4 Financial Management CODING STRUCTURE0401 ACCOUNTINGCLASSIFICATIONCODEThe standard accounting classificationcoding structure that will be used by all DoDComponents is currently being developed by theDefense Finance and Accounting Service andwill be issued as soon as it is finalized. DoDComponents will continue to ues their currentaccounting classification coding structure unlessotherwise STATION CODEThis 6-character field contains the DoDComponent-assigned identification number ofthe accountable station responsible for enteringthe transaction into the applicable accountingsystem.

2 The accountable station code is theFiscal Station Number (FSN) of both OSD andthe Army, the Authorization Accounting Activity(AAA) of the Navy, or the Accounting andDisbursing Station Number (ADSN) used by theAir Force. The accountable station code will bea field of the accounting classification code whenit is 1 through addendum 4 to thischapter lists the current accountable stationswithin the Department of Defense with theircurrent mailing Componentsshall provide updated listings of their account-able stations with valid hard-copy and electronicmailing addresses as changes occur.

3 This infor-mation shall be provided to the Director, DefenseFinance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
