Barry Elman stepped in to con-duct the ceremony of Elevation in St George RAM when the Commander who was recovering following a heart opera-tion. Excelsior Royal Ark Mariners Lodge 359 met on Saturday 18th January and per-formed a Ceremony of Elevation for William Wenton, a member of Coronation Mark Lodge 563. 3 But after a busy pre-Christmas sea-son the PGM was able to spend some quality time with Lynne and their family. But no sooner had the festivities finished and before he dusted his piny down he found time to go to Sherdley Hill and help Lynne with the Brownie Pack. Peter and Lynne can be seen above at the camp. On Wednesday 8th January the Pro-vincial Grand Master attended a meet-ing of the Hale Branch of Royal British Legion based in the Child of Hale inn, which is in Hale. At the meeting the PGM presented a Cheque for 250 to Tony Wainwright who is the Secretary of the Liverpool Pals memorial fund. Read all about it Here The Mark Province Provides Defibrillators to Masonic Halls across the Province The December edition of Mark Times was one of the means used to inform the breth-ren of West Lancashire that defibrillator familiarisation session had been arranged at several strategically placed Masonic Halls throughout West Lancashire. These ses-sions followed the supply by the Mark Charities of 19 defibrillators at Masonic Hall which had already acquired one. The sessions were held by the North West Ambu-lance staff, ably assisted by our very own who attended and took part in every course. The session received favourable feedback by all who attended and the management of the various Halls who had benefited from our benevolence.

Ed. Page 3 Coaguchek Presentation The WM of Thornton Cleveleys Lodge No 7540, Peter Clay, had two very special rea-sons to pay a visit to Blackpool Victoria Hospi-tal. One reason was to thank one of the hos-pital s cardiac advanced practitioners, Sam Kilmurray, for setting him on the road to re-covery and the other was to present her with a much needed piece of equipment.

6 Read all about it Travelling Keystone at Garnett Mark Flixton Shepherd Eastwood Lodge We have reported in the past about the valiant efforts of the members of Flixton Shepherd Eastwood Lodge as they fought back from almost extinction. On the 24th February I was honoured to be present when the Master ably assisted by the Prov. GM and Provincial DC, acting as Senior and Junior Deacons respectively conducted an advancement ceremony with two candidates joining their number. You can read Austin Fletchers report here. Read about it here Sunday the 19th of January saw the magnificent donation to Ecclesholme of a specially converted minibus to assist the residents to get to hospital appointments more easily. The presentation was made on behalf of the Mark Province of West Lancashire by our PGM, Peter Connolly and his wife Lynne, to the two representatives of the RMBI, the Vice-President Dr John Reuter, ac-companied by his wife Maggie, and our Northern Trustee Ian Newby. West Lancashire Mark No. 65, 150 Years of Mark Masonry Wednesday the 5th of March saw a spectacular celebration for our oldest Mark Lodge in West Lancashire, when it cele-brate 150 years of continuous meetings.

8 The Lodge was formed on the 9th of January 1864, and the occasion was marked by the presence of some very special guests - the Pro Grand Master Benjamin Addy, the Deputy Grand Secretary Angus Hannagan, and the Grand DC Kessick Jones graced us with their presence. Our PGM Peter Connolly was also there in three capacities - as our leader in the Province, as a member of the Lodge, and as Senior Deacon of West Lancashire Mark Lodge ! Page 5 During the celebration of West Lancashire Mark Lodge No 65 achieving 150 years, the Pro Grand Master requested the Grand DC to present the Lodge Secretary, Colin Mills be-fore him.

(right) The Pro Grand Master, Benjamin Addy, an-nounced on the 11th March 2014, that he will be retir-ing after the June investiture meeting of Mark Master Masons to be held in Great Queen Street, London. He has served the order of Mark Master Masonry as a ruler for over twenty four years and Pro Grand Master for three years. During his time in office he has been a good friend to Lancashire and has attended many events, the most recent being the West Lancashire 150th anniversary featured in this page.
