These regulatory requirements are found under 40 CFR and require that commercial facilities make available to generators of Waste , Waste Management plan options and training. This document serves to fulfill this regulatory requirement. It is the responsibility of the generator to properly identify, segregate and manage all Waste streams and properly complete a Waste Management plan . 2 IDENTIFICATION OF WASTES:It is the responsibility of (insert name of facility) to identify opportunities for recycling or reducing wastes such as paper, plastics, cardboard, glass, batteries, etc. Healthcare facilities such as ours (insert name) have evaluated the approach, costs, feasibility, and impacts of additional Waste Management measures. As part of the October 6, 2009 amendments to the HMIWI regulations, , which was revised to include some new provisions we are required to review and revise our facility s current WMP. The revised provisions provide greater detail regarding the segregation and recycling of wastes such as paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, batteries, food Waste , and metals ( , aluminum cans, metals-containing devices) and the segregation of non-recyclable wastes ( , polychlorinated biphenyl-containing Waste , pharmaceutical Waste , and mercury-containing Waste , such as dental Waste ).

Our plan is reviewed periodically (define, quarterly, annually, etc.) and revised when new areas or departments are added within the facility or when new Waste streams are introduced. EMPLOYEE TRAINING:It is essential to our healthcare facility that we ensure proper compliance and that our staff is knowledgeable about our Waste Management plan . We conduct training department by department on an annual basis (please insert your training schedule or requirements by department). While there is no regulatory requirement for a training timeline, it is best Management practice to train employees initially, when systems change, when new Waste streams are identified and annually thereafter.
