B-63 Pressure Fittings PVC Schedule 40 Pressure Fittings used in conjunction with Schedule 40 Pressure pipe are ideal for the transmission of potable water and many chemical solutions not exceeding 130 F. PVC Schedule 40 Fittings have a smooth interior surface that minimizes head Pressure loss through friction. The smooth interior also minimizes rust and oxidation and makes the Fittings generally impervious to scaling or contamination buildup. PVC. piping systems are not adversely affected by environmental agents and buried systems are not adversely affected by normal soil contaminants.

4 Fittings shall be capable of withstanding the burst pres- sure of the pipe . All Fittings shall be socketed type, manufactured in ac- cordance with ASTM D2466 or ASTM D2467. PVC pipe and socketed Fittings shall be joined by cold weld- ing through the use of solvent-based cements manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2564. Joints shall be made in accordance with the pipe manufacturer's recommenda- tions and generally in conformity with the recommended PRODUCT.
