PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE. On behalf of the Board of Directors, employees and many volunteers for the Michigan Trapshooting Association we welcome everyone to the 2018.

Shooting events at the Michigan Trapshooting Association. We continue to make new improvements in the program and grounds to provide you with an enjoyable shooting experience. The Board of Directors has been working throughout the winter months to promote and grow the positive aspects of our sport and to secure many items as special trophies. Through generous donors we will have the Mich- igan Three Gun Lewis, the Case of Ammo a Week for a Year prize, a Miss and Out contest, and several other cash awards. We would like to present the newest inductees into the Michigan Trap- shooting Hall of Fame James Doolittle and Andrew Suda. Shooters, past Hall of Fame Inductees, families and friends are invited to attend the award ceremony in the pavilion on Saturday June 30, 2018 after the singles championship. The Hall of Fame continues to raise funds for a permanent climate con- trolled location to preserve our museum collection. In closing I would like to thank all of the people who volunteer to help with the shoots; target setting, classification, shoot referees, and those who help new shooters get started.

I would like to thank the Board of Directors of Michigan Trapshooting ssociation for allowing me the honor and privilege of serving as President A. of our Association. It is their work and sacrifices that make the Michigan Trapshooting Association one of the best trapshooting grounds in the United States Sincerely Larry Telfer President MTA WORK DAY. Please join us April 21, 2018 to prepare the Michigan Trapshooting Association grounds for a great shoot season 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Lunch Provided BRING YOUR GUN OPEN SHOOTING AFTER.. MTA HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM. The MTA Hall of Fame & Museum had another successful year in 2017. Generous onations from Michigan trapshooters and their families expanded the museum collection d and raised funds to preserve our trapshooting heritage. Come on over to the 2018 MTA. shoots and be sure to stop in the clubhouse and check out the new museum displays. We are thrilled to announce the 2018 Hall of Fame inductees James Doolittle and Andrew Suda.

These men have earned this honor through their many shooting ac- complishments and their support of Michigan trapshooting. All are invited to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony and celebrate their accomplishments at our State Shoot on June 30, 2018. The Hall of Fame & Museum Board is grateful for the generous donations in 2017. This money will be used to pay for the annual Hall of Fame ceremony, ongoing museum artifact preservation and displays, to fund the scholarship program, and future capital projects. Fund raising events in 2018 will include 50/50s, gun raffles, and the annual silent auction at our State shoot. Donations of silent auction items are being accepted now and are appreciated. The first Michigan Trapshooting Association Hall of Fame College Scholarship will be awarded at the 2018 State Shoot in conjunction with the Michigan State Team presenta- tion. We are accepting applications for the 2019 scholarships now. Current high school- ers graduating in 2018 or 2019 may apply.

(Coaches - let your youth shooters know this money is available.) Scholarship applications can be found on the Michigan Trapshooting Website ( ), at the MTA home grounds, or by contact- ing any Hall of Fame Board Member. Please submit your application by the last day (July 1, 2018) of the Michigan State Trapshooting Championships, to be considered for the Scholarship(s) in 2019. The existing facilities at the MTA grounds do not provide the appropriate climate control to preserve the Hall of Fame and Museum artifacts, exhibits, and photos. Each year, all items are removed from the clubhouse and stored over the winter. We are reluctant to ac- cept additional items to grow the museum collection until we have appropriate housing. The HOF Board of Directors and MTA Board of Directors have been discussing ways to provide a permanent Hall of Fame & Museum area to preserve our collection year-round. Preliminary bids indicate the cost will be $45,000 to $50,000 to renovate part of the clubhouse for this purpose.

This cost is beyond our current resources. We are considering ways we can accomplish this goal. We are asking for your input. If you are a general contractor, electrician, framer, or any other building trade specialist, we would love to hear your ideas and would ap- preciate your help. Anyone interested in helping with this project is invited to contact a MTA board member or HOF board member. MTA is a 501c3 organization . Contribu- tions are tax deductible to the extent of the law. The MTA Hall of Fame & Museum activities would not be possible without the generous donations and support from trapshooters and the volunteers who help with events. Thank You to all who support the MTA Hall of Fame & Museum. Best wishes for a successful 2018 shooting year. 9 Rules for Buege Buick GMC Money, Dundee Sportsmen Club Foundation, Michigan Trapshooting Association, Shells for a Year, and Michigan Three Gun Lewis Shoot-offs 1. To be eligible for the Shoot-off, an individual must have shot and completed the event(s). 2. Shooters are responsible to check their score promptly following the event. For the purposes of these promotions, no score will be changed after the drawing of the random numbers. 3. Upon completion of the event, numbers will be publicly and randomly selected - zero to nine. This will be the last number of your score. 4. Should the drawn numbers create multiple entries, each individual is allowed only one entry per shoot-off. 5. For MTA Golf Cart Shoot-off, shooter names will be randomly selected from event participants. 6. The numbers and list of eligible shooters will be posted on the scoreboard. 7. A time and location for all qualifying shooters to sign up for the shoot-off will be announced over the PA system, posted on the scoreboard, and carried on the TV system.

8. Immediately following the last event of the day (or event noted in the program) eligible participants report to the shoot-off area and will be assigned to squads based on their ATA handicap yardage and the discretion of shoot management. 9. A participant's ATA handicap yardage will be the yardage they shot at the time they became eligible for the shoot-off (the yardage they shot in the event when their score number was selected). 10. All shoot-off rounds will consist of ten (10) targets, two (2) targets at each post, shot from participant's ATA handicap yardage. 11. Shoot-off rounds will continue until a single winner is determined (except Buege Buick GMC money will be the top three shooters (50%, 30%, and 20%). 12. Decisions made by the shoot management regarding the above listed rules, or disputes, shall be final. All decisions will be made in conformity with the ATA. rules where applicable. 13. The shooter must complete shoot-off to be eligible for a prize.)
