1 23 Welcome to the Oakview, Perkin and Triple R bull sale. What a sale these consignors had last year! Selling 10 bulls over $10,000 and having a very good average. It was definitely a destination sale that many smart investors took part in. Calving ease, power and longevity are some of the key words I heard from the consignors when touring their herds this past January. I am going to share another word, hair . Manitoba bulls have great hair coats, and that s something all producers should be looking for. The first three days of touring it was -40 degrees, I wish I had some of that great hair. Do your cowherd a favour, come dip into these genetic pools and improve both your calf crop and cow herd in one fell swoop. In last year s sales management comments Jay talked about Oakview's fast growth and improvement in their breeding program in such a short time.

2 I thought of how many herds Jay has been through in over 20 years of doing this and that s quite the compliment! The improvements haven t stopped; Todd and Danna have continued on their journey and this will be evident when you re assessing this year s offering. Check their web site for videos. 4 Distance beyond that at cost. Bulls can be wintered free to charge until April 1. After April 1, there will be a charge of $3/day. Bulls returned to the farm can be picked up at the buyer s convenience. Bulls that are wintered by the consignors must be insured by the Purchases:Our sales are conducted in Canadian funds. The US exchange rate will be available at the settlement desk. Upon successful purchase of an animal, the consignors will assist with the necessary documentation, health exams, brokerage and US custom charges necessary to export your animal to the US. An additional fee of $300 USD per animal will be charged for this service, and is due at time of settlement. Trucking is not included in this amount. 8 One of the deepest-sided bulls we have ever raised. He is a natural calf out of one of our latest flush cows that is a direct daughter of Doll herself. He was the heaviest calf at weaning, gaining per day as his weight per day of age. As a yearling, he still topped out at over 4lbs/day. Both bulls are full of muscle Captain Morgan Flushmatesand soft made, they have tremendous capacity and thick, electric hair that gives them a standout look, although they are a bit different in their overall make up.
