He had shown himself alive to them after his Passion by many demonstrations: for forty days he had continued to appear to them and tell them about the kingdom of God. When he had been at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised.

It is he had said what you have heard me speak about: John baptised with water but you, not many days from now, will be baptised with the Holy Spirit. Now having met together, they asked him, Lord, has the time come? Are you going to restore the kingdom of Israel? He replied, It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to the ends of the earth. As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight. They were still staring into the sky when suddenly two men in white were standing near them and they said, Why are you men from Galilee standing here looking into the sky?

Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, this same Jesus will come back in the same way as you have seen him go there. RESPONSORIAL PSALMPs 46:2-3, 6-9 God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the READINGE phesians 1:17-23 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him. May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, what rich glories he has promised the saints will inherit and how infinitely great is the power that he has exercised for us believers. This you can tell from the strength of his power at work in Christ, when he used it to raise him from the dead and to make him sit at his right hand, in heaven, far above every Sovereignty, Authority, Power, or Domination, or any other name that can be named not only in this age but also in the age to come.

He has put all things under his feet and made him, as the ruler of everything, the head of the Church; which is his body, the fullness of him who fills the whole 15 : No 27(Continued page 4) Willunga Catholic Parish CENTRE12 St Judes Street (PO Box 14) Willunga SA 5172 Phone: 8556 2132 (diverts to Noarlunga Office outside Willunga Office hours)Email: OFFICE HOURST uesday: - Friday: - DOWNS Catholic PRESBYTERYP hone: 8382 1717 Parish TEAM CONTACTSFr Charles Gauci ( Parish Priest -involved in another ministry in 2017)Fr Tony Telford-Sharp ( Parish Administrator - 8382 1717)Fr Peter Zwaans (Associate Priest)Fr Josy Sebastian (Associate Priest)Fr Tom Gleeson (Resident Priest)Sr Margaret Ann ( Parish worker - 0488 287 552)Geraldine and Steve Robinson (Finance/ Parish Office - Tuesday am)Gael Maloney ( Parish Office - Friday am.)

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2017 Weather permitting, Galilee Catholic School community will acknowledge World Environment Day on Wednesday June 7. This year we aim to plant and restore the Sheoak forest and nature play area North of stage 1 by the Galilee Hill. We will be planting shrubs, grasses and ground covers to create habitats for butterflies, birds and small creatures and enhance our nature play in this area. We decided the Sheoak forest (one of our very first ground s projects) was a fitting focus in our 10th Anniversary year. In the words of current five year olds we would: Like to see the plants feel better All the plants and trees and flowers coming back More berries because their food for people Berries are food for birds too.

We could have birds come. If would like to contribute to World Environment Day planting you are invited to contact the school office (8557 9000) or join parents/family members at on Wednesday, June 7 by the Galilee hill near stage 1 building. Kerri Gould2017 NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK Let s take the next steps National Reconciliation Week (NRW) runs annually from 27 May 3 June. These dates mark two milestones in Australia s reconciliation journey: the 1967 referendum and the historic Mabo decision, respectively. In 2017, we reflect on two significant anniversaries in Australia s reconciliation journey 50 years since the 1967 referendum, and 25 years since the historic Mabo week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can join the national reconciliation effort.
