The first season of the remake premiered earlier this year and was hugely popular. To reacquaint you with the characters and stories behind the MASTERPIECE series you have three ways to watch the show before Season 2 begins January 9. Episodes will broadcast Sunday nights beginning December 12, an all-day marathon New Year s Day beginning at 11:30am or you can watch the episodes on demand through the PBS Video app if you are a WITF Passport member.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many put off routine healthcare and screenings in order to stay away from the doctor's office but what are the lasting effects of this delay in healthcare? How are those that delayed their care getting back on track? Watch Transforming Health: Routine Healthcare in a Pandemic Thursday, December 16 on WITF at did my Saturdays go? We begin the month with our final fundraising campaign of the year. The four fundraising efforts throughout the year will preempt some of our regular programs while we encourage you to contribute to WITF.

3 Also, this year Christmas and New Year s Day land on Saturday. Both of those days come with their own slate of special programs. While December 18 is normal for all other purposes, it is the one Saturday that sits between fundraising and then the two holidays. Instead of restarting our regular programming for the one day, we ll hold off until January 8 to resume our regular Saturday programming. You ll find December 18th has a few treats in store including some of the holiday specials from Great British Baking Show and a marathon of the recent remake of Les Mis rables on MASTERPIECE. What are those numbers that follow a program in this guide? This was a pressing question of a viewer who regularly reads the guide like you.

4 Do you wonder the same thing? You ll see NOVA #4816 and All Creatures Great and Small #5104 this month. These are episode numbers to the corresponding series. The first two digits are typically the season with the trailing two digits the episode number. There are exceptions to that rule. Like BBC World News, most news programs are five or six digits because there is more than one episode in a day and more than 100 episodes in a season. Other exceptions exist for one-episode programs which are usually coded with zeros, or, like Call the Midwife Holiday Special, use the year as the episode number.
