1 Words Their WayLetter Names * Alphabetic SpellersWord Sort NotebookInstructions:Choose a Notebook Cover PageYou ll find both full-page and half-page notebook covers. Students will color Their cover, cut it out on the dotted line and glue onto the front of Their Some StorageSince your students will be completing each sort several times, they ll need somewhere to keep Their cards until they are ready to glue them into Their notebooks. I always like to glue or tape a small envelope onto the inside of the front cover and use it as a pocket. To make it even easier for your kiddos to keep track of Their cards, use a snack-sized baggie to hold the cards and place the baggie into the 1-5:SORTs 6-12:Option #1: Picture SortGlue the heading at the top of the page.

Match the word to the picture, apply glue to the shaded rectangle and stick the word card on top. Then, cut apart the picture cards included in the workbook and try sorting the Words in different ways. When you re ready to glue the Words in your notebook, write the sorting rules in the empty boxes and glue the Words R-controlled Words and ContractionsGlue the heading at the top of the page.
