2 Edwin Chung Edwin Chung is an experienced geotechnical engineer with over 30 year of design and construction experience in various aspects of geotechnical engineering. He is an active committee member of HKIE GDC. He is the Senior Geotechnical Resident Engineer for Tolo Highway Improvement. He supervised the HKU Water Work Re-provision Contract before he joined the Tolo Project. King-wai LEUNG. After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, KW Leung went to Singapore to work in the Public Works Department. He returned to Hong Kong in 1976 and joined Maunsell Consultants Asia, the Mass Transit Railway Corporation and then the Housing Department.

3 He has extensive experience in site formation, deep EXCAVATION and slope engineering. He was one of the pioneers in establishing the geotechnical discipline in the Housing Department and retired from the post of Chief Geotechnical Engineer in 2009. Over the years, KW has been active in serving the HKIE and the Engineers Registration Board. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong. Rupert LEUNG. Ir Rupert Leung did his studies in civil engineering in HKU and an Engineering school in France. He has been with Hyder consulting Limited for the last 20. years and is now a director of its geotechnical function group. Ir Leung has been involved in projects involving deep EXCAVATION in Hong Kong, mainland China, SE Asia and Middle East.

4 He is also a member of GEO's C580 Review Group. Victor LI. Dr. Victor Li is the Director of Centre for Research & Professional Development and Victor Li & Associates Ltd. and also Adjunct Professor of HKU. Dr. Li has presented numerous talks and lectures in Hong Kong in the field of deep excavations , foundations, geotechnics and Buildings Ordinance and related regulations to a wide range of audiences. He is an AP, RSE and RGE and currently Chairman of the RGE Registration Committee and member of the Buildings Department's Technical Committee on Code of Practice for Foundations. James SZE. James SZE is a Registered Professional Engineer in Structural, Civil and Geotechnical disciplines as well as a Registered Geotechnical Engineer.

5 He is an Associate Director of Arup Hong Kong office which has more than 100. geotechnical engineers. He leads a geotechnical team of more than 20. engineers in design and supervision of the geotechnical aspects for a variety of developments. He has extensive experience in the investigation, design, instrumentation and construction supervision for deep foundation and basement EXCAVATION projects in Hong Kong as well as in other countries such as China, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea and Middle East.
