10 The session was attended by representatives of Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Cambodia; China; Cook Islands; Fiji; Hong Kong, China; Japan; Kiribati; the Lao People s Democratic Republic; Macao; Malaysia; the Federated States of Micronesia; Mongolia; Nauru; New Zealand; Niue; the Republic of Palau; Papua New Guinea; the Philippines; the Republic of Korea; Samoa; Singapore; Solomon Islands; Tonga; Tuvalu; Vanuatu; and Viet Nam, and by representatives of France, Portugal, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America as Member States responsible for areas in the Region. Representatives of the Pacific Community, 20 nongovernmental organizations and an observer from Canada also attended.
