2 * Minimum Bachelor Degree or National Diploma in Information Technology * Minimum three (3) years experience in IT Server and Network Service * Certification in ITIL, N+ and A+ and any one of the following (MCSDT, MCSA, MCP, MCSE) Networking certification such as CNA * Working knowledge and understanding of desktop, laptops, printers, servers, network, and configuration thereof * Experience and working knowledge of ITIL processes * Windows 7 or latest support experience * MS Office 2013 or latest support experience * Knowledge of MS Skype, Lync, Exchange Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WIFI * Working knowledge of SMS, AD, Exchange 2010 or latest and remote control tools * Excellent technical knowledge of computer hardware .

3 The candidate must be competent in the following: * Good communication skills * Analytical skills * Interpersonal skills * MS Windows and MAC client operating systems * MS Office * IT best practice and procedures * Software, hardware and TCP/IP troubleshooting. Key responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Department: Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and management of the network, servers in terms of the server operating systems and capacity management, IT systems security management, IT infrastructure level applications management, maintenance of the system configurations and reports thereof, management and maintenance of server room, network coms rooms including the provision of backup and restoration of data and information * Ensure compliance with relevant IT policies and procedures including requirements of the IT SLA * Design, install.

4 Support and maintain Hyper-V system * Establish and ensure high availability of systems * Deploy server and network hardware * Provide hardware support for servers _____ and network devices * Provide operating system support for Windows servers 2008 or latest and application support * Design, install, support and maintain firewall and VPN infrastructure, Exchange 2010 or latest, Active Directory, SQL Server 2008 or latest * Backup and restore of data using Backup Exec 10 or latest * Maintain related documentation of the infrastructure * Manage IT asset life cycle from procurement to termination of IT assets * Provide efficient support within agreed time frames * Devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems * Highlight key problems and areas for improvement in terms of processes, procedures etc * Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant)

5 Based on request trends and make recommendations * Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Microsoft applications, printers, computer hardware , and any other authorised applications and peripheral equipment * Use diagnostic tools to troubleshot problems associated with network connectivity, and workstation hardware and software * Escalate issues and involve experts wherever required in order to resolve issues as quickly as possible * Develop technical knowledge of each system within the organisation and specialised knowledge of certain nominated areas. 7 Key responsibilities: * Reporting to the Head of Department: Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the incumbent will be responsible for provision of desktop/ workstation support services, which encompass all services required to keep network devices operational in terms of fault finding, resolving user workstation problems, distributing software and keeping track of workstation assets * Ensure compliance with relevant IT policies and procedures including requirements of the IT SLA * Assess need for any system reconfiguration based on request trends and make recommendations * Management of IMACD (installation, moves, additions, changes and deletions) * Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Microsoft applications and any other authorised desktop applications * Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot printers, computer hardware and any other authorised peripheral equipment * Performs general preventative maintenance and remedial repairs on computers.

8 Laptops and any other authorised peripheral equipment * Customise desktop hardware to meet user _____ specifications and NERSA standards * Deal with hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the support helpdesk and escalated to the Desktop Technician * Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity including audio visual and workstation hardware and software * Familiarise users on basic software, hardware and peripheral device operation * Escalate issues and involve experts wherever required in order to resolve issues as quickly as possible * Enforce and suggest modifications and additions to improve desktop standards and guidelines * Develop technical knowledge of each system within the organisational profile and specialised knowledge of certain nominated areas *Maintain adequate knowledge of operation systems and application software used to provide quality support.
