2 The Youth Program Manager will provide professional project management for all Denali Education Center Youth programs, both in partnership with the National Park Service and on our residential campus, as well as any additional Youth programming that occurs. Successful candidates will be motivated, energetic, and organized individuals capable of developing and implementing innovative strategies to achieve our growth and development goals. This Position is located in Denali, Alaska. Areas of Responsibilities: Programs Foster relationships among the National Park Service, local schools, current Program partners, and other Youth and education organizations to enhance the development of Denali Education Center Youth programming Work with NPS Education Specialist to implement Denali Discovery Camp and Denali Backcountry Adventures programs Recruit, select, and train all Denali Discovery Camp instructors Lead and/or instruct Youth programs, if necessary Oversee all activities throughout the programs, and serve as primary emergency contact Work with residential Program staff to implement intergenerational programs Manage Program performance and quality Development and Communication Update and develop compelling Youth Program communications (website content, marketing materials, social media.)

Be a positive spokesperson for the Youth programming of Denali Education Center Work with Program Director and Executive Director to develop messaging for Youth programs Participate in Board of Directors and Youth Program Committee meetings Identify and develop opportunities to expand the depth and breadth of existing programs, as well as explore and develop new Program ideas Work with Operations Director and Program Director to develop new sources of Youth Program funding Assist with grant-writing and reporting process Administrative and Management Maintain and improve existing Youth Program systems ( Program registration, equipment inventory, Program SOP documents, etc.) Hire, train and supervise Youth Field Educators and/or Youth Program Interns Work with Operations Director and Program Director to develop Youth Program budgets Additional Duties This Position is required to work all Youth Program related fundraiser events, and the organization s annual fundraising event Qualifications Passion for working with Youth Bachelor s degree, Maters preferred (or equivalent experience) Preferred Knowledge and Skills 2+ years of experience working in education or Youth development.

4 Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated success in developing new Youth programs Curriculum development experience Grant writing and fundraising experience Developed public speaking skills Experience with and/or understanding of the application of technology and social media tools Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Team player but with the ability to work independently Strong communication skills, written and verbal Solid interpersonal communication skills with peers, staff, the local community, and Program participants Willingness to work flexible hours as needed Ability to prioritize and conduct multiple tasks in a fast-past environment Culturally sensitive; ability to develop a rapport with individuals from diverse sectors Detail-oriented Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder training Knowledge of the Denali area, including an understanding of the local transportation systems and the infrastructure of the Denali National Park visitor systems Compensation Commensurate with experience, plus benefits including paid holidays, vacation, health insurance and life insurance Disclaimer: Position contingent upon confirmation of funding This Position Description reflects the Denali Education Center s best effort to describe the essential functions and qualifications of the Youth Program Manager Position .
