It is often used as a tool to facilitate the participation of people in developmental activities. Such form of COMMUNICATION is known as DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION . According to Everett Rogers DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION refers to the uses to which COMMUNICATION are put in order to further DEVELOPMENT .

Discussions and debate helps people to know current issues, participate in developmental programme and bring a change in the standard of living of the society. Media in developing and under developed countries strive to bring in developmental change, through its message to the mass.
