TheNexGen Epicondylar Instruments are designed to help the surgeon accomplish these goals by combining optimal alignment accuracy with asimple, straightforward center of the hip, knee , and ankle arerestored to lie on a straight line, establishing aneutral mechanical axis. The femoral and tibialcomponents are oriented perpendicular to thisaxis. Femoral rotation is determined using thecollateral ligament attachment to the epicondyles,(the transepicondylar axis).
