2.3.1 Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate [80-62-6] PMMA can be produced using a variety of polymerization mechanisms. The most common technique is the free radical polymerization of MMA. The free radical polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates is a chain polymerization across the double bond of the monomer (Figure 2.5).
