Oct 15, 2015 · FAA airworthiness standards have required ICA for new design approvals since October 14, 1980 (amendments 23-26, 25-54, 27-18, 29-20, 31-82, 33-9, and 35-5). Also additional, retroactive ICA requirements have been imposed for certain types of aircraft in specific kinds of operations (such as large transport airplanes in air carrier operations).
