2nd Issue August 2013 IIA Canada Status Update as a Standalone Institute In September 2010, Canadian IIA members overwhelmingly voted in favour of commencing a two-year transition toward establishing a stand-alone Institute of The IIA in Canada. The membership vote was based on objectives laid out in the May 2010 Canadian Institute Proposal. The objective of the transition period was that IIA Canada (IIAC) would have operational independence as of Jan. 1, 2013 .
