Callaghan, San jose State university Diabetes ACT Manual Therapist 2 Overview of Treatment Background Many diabetics are given information about how to manage their diabetes, and are sent off to take care of their diabetes on their own. This strategy disregards the large number of research studies demonstrating that simply providing individuals with diabetes with education is a necessary, but not sufficient, component of their ability to manage their diabetes successfully. Obviously not every diabetic needs more than education in order to successfully manage their diabetes, but this manual is designed for the vast majority of individuals with diabetes, who do.
