Samuels, Jr. Director, Federal Bureau of Prisons 1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE a. Purpose. The purpose of the Administrative Remedy Program is to allow an inmate to seek formal review of an issue relating to any aspect of his/her own confinement. An inmate may not submit a Request or appeal on behalf of another inmate. Inmates seeking a formal review of issues relating to sexual abuse should use the regulations promulgated by the Department of Justice under the Prison Rape Elimination Act, 42 15606, et seq. These procedures are provided in Section 16 of this Program Statement.
