There are several types of Grade 12 certificates in South Africa. The 3 most common ones are: The Senior Certificate (prior 2008) The National Senior Certificate (2008 onwards) Other curriculums When you want to enroll for a degree/diploma the following pointers are important: Do I have 50%, HG (for degree studies), 40%, HG (for diploma studies) or more, for English Do I have full endorsement to enter for a B-degree OR do I have endorsement to enter for a Diploma Programme. (This information is indicated at the bottom of your grade 12 certificate.) Do I comply with the university/faculty REQUIREMENTS of the university BUT the candidate must fully understand that although s/he complies with the REQUIREMENTS , it does not necessarily mean that the student will be accepted as selection of students still takes place according to availability in different programmes.)
