(11/11) State of CaliforniaThe Alternate Retirement Program (ARP) is a Retirement savings Program for certain employees hired on or after August 11, 2004. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled for their fi rst two years of employment with the State of California . ARP provides up to two years of Retirement savings in lieu of Retirement service credit under the California Public Employees Retirement system (CalPERS).
