order the Planck mass we need more and more parameters to absorb the infinities that occur in the theory. In fact we need an infinite number of parameters to renormalize the theory at these scales. Remember that for each parameter that gets renormalized we must make a measurement! So GR is a pretty useless theory at these energies.
