Various inlet and outletfitting types and sizes are used. Many also have system protection devices,moisture indicators, charge ports, sight glass, fuse plugs, high pressure reliefvalves, mounting brackets depending on the requirements from the originalequipment Driers are usually located on the high side of the a/c system beforethe expansion valve. The receiver drier receives liquid refrigerant from thecondenser, stores it, filters out contaminates from the a/c system, and removesmoisture. A/C systems using a receiver drier use an expansion valve to controlthe refrigerant are similar to that of the receiver drier.
