Il est principalement synth tis par les myocytes des ventricules gauche (essentiellement) et droit du c ur, en r ponse une surcharge volumique ou une augmentation de la pression ventriculaire (conditions de charge). Cette synth se est extemporan e ; il n est pas stock . Le BNP existe sous une forme de r serve, le pr probnp (134 AA) qui est cliv de fa on quimol culaire, en pro-BNP (108 aminoacides), lui-m me cliv en NT-PROBNP (N-Terminal probnp ) biologiquement inactif (1-76 aminoacides) et en BNP actif (77-108 AA) qui sont lib r s dans la circulation.
