This CHAPTER shall govern fire SAFETY measures DURING the construction , alteration, or demolition of buildings, structures, premises and facilities. General. Buildings, structures, premises and facilities undergoing construction , alteration or demolition shall comply with the fire SAFETY measures set forth in this CHAPTER , and shall additionally comply with the requirements of NFPA 241 as to measures not specifically addressed herein.

1404.4 Spontaneous ignition. Materials susceptible to spontaneous ignition, such as oily rags, shall be stored in a container listed for such use. 1404.5 Fire watch. The commissioner may require, at a demolition site, and at other construction sites that are unusually hazardous in nature, that a fire watch be maintained by fire guards.
