The 1994 AASHTO publication, A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, (also known as the Green Book) is the principle source for highway design criteria. Supplements to the Green Book include other AASHTO and technical publications adopted as acceptable criteria and other Federal, State and local specifications for use on their roads.
