NATURE OF SPECIALISATION An ORTHOPAEDIC NURSE Specialist is a specialist general NURSE who has an additional qualification in ORTHOPAEDIC Nursing Science and is registered as such with the South African Nursing Council. It is a specialist field of neuromuscular-skeletal and vascular functioning that focuses on varied clinical or subfields for adult and paediatric conditions, including: spinal conditions; congenital abnormalities; growth disorders; neurological conditions; soft tissue conditions; metabolic disorders; tumours; trauma; rehabilitation; and the prevention of ORTHOPAEDIC morbidity.
