This is highlighted in Africa s Lake Victoria region, where the nations of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda are seeking to combat interrelated challenges, including recent problems of water hyacinth infestation and eutrophication, as well as the more far-reaching problem of increasing environmental pressures brought on by burgeoning populations, increased pollution, and climate change.
